Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
By registering for or using Moat Mind Coach, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Educational coaching service
Moat Mind Coach provides educational coaching on investment psychology, decision frameworks, and related life clarity topics. It is an information and learning tool — not a brokerage, bank, advisory firm, or trading platform. Market data shown in the app may be delayed or incomplete.
3. Not personalized investment advice
Content in the app — including chat coaching, frameworks, and examples — is for education only. It is not personalized investment advice, a recommendation to buy or sell any security, or an offer of fiduciary services. We do not act as your investment adviser, broker, or fiduciary. You alone decide how to use any ideas. Past examples and hypotheticals do not guarantee future results. For advice tailored to your situation, consult a licensed professional.
4. Tax information
Any tax concepts mentioned in the app (for example wash sales or capital-gains categories) are general educational examples, often framed around U.S. concepts. Tax rules vary by jurisdiction and personal circumstances. We do not provide tax advice. For material tax decisions, consult a CPA or qualified tax professional.
5. Third-party AI
Coaching replies are generated with help from a third-party AI provider (currently OpenAI). Your chat messages and related coaching context (such as plan or mindset text you choose to send) are transmitted over HTTPS to our backend, which forwards them to the AI provider to generate replies. We do not send your Apple ID, payment card details, or App Store billing data to the AI provider. AI outputs can be incomplete or wrong; treat them as educational drafting, not authority. 6. Account registration
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
7. Intellectual property
Moat Mind Coach and all original app content are owned by First Principles and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, redistribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works without written permission.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the app, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, or use automated tools to extract data or replicate the service.
9. Auto-renewable subscriptions (Moat Mind Pro)
Moat Mind Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription billed through your Apple ID. Product identifiers include monthly and annual plans shown in the app at purchase time (for example com.firstprinciples.MarketWatch.pro.monthly and com.firstprinciples.MarketWatch.pro.annual).
- Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate shown at purchase (or as otherwise disclosed by Apple).
- Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Free users receive a limited daily number of coaching messages. Pro unlocks higher usage within fair-use limits enforced by the app and our backend. Subscription terms in the paywall and on the App Store listing apply in addition to these Terms.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee accuracy, availability, or fitness for any particular purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, First Principles is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or reliance on its content — including trading losses, tax outcomes, or decisions made after reading coaching replies.
12. Apple
These terms are between you and First Principles, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. To the extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms or for operational reasons. You may sign out or stop using the app at any time.
