Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 23, 2026

Overview

Moat Mind Coach (“we”, “the app”) respects your privacy. This policy describes what data the app processes and how it is used.

Account and sign-in

If you create an account, we may process an email address and basic profile fields you provide. Where available, you may use Sign in with Apple; Apple provides us with an identifier and, if you choose to share it, a name and email (or a private relay email).

If Firebase Authentication or related Firebase services are enabled for your build, account credentials and sync metadata are processed by Google Firebase under their terms and privacy policy, solely to operate sign-in and optional cloud features we enable.

Chat messages and third-party AI

When you use Chats (or related coaching features), the text you send — and limited context needed to reply (for example recent thread content or plan text you include) — is transmitted over HTTPS to our backend. Our backend forwards that content to a third-party AI provider (currently OpenAI) to generate coaching replies.

Purpose: generate educational coaching responses you requested.

We do not sell your messages. We do not send your Apple ID, payment card numbers, or App Store billing data to the AI provider.

Other data we process

Retirement plan inputs, mindset check-ins, Treehole notes, and watchlist symbols are primarily stored on your device. If you are signed in and cloud sync is enabled, some of that data may sync to your account.

Market data is fetched from licensed market-data providers via our backend or configured data feeds. Quotes may be delayed.

Purchases are processed by Apple. We receive subscription entitlement status from Apple; we do not receive your full payment card details.

Usage limits (for example free daily message counts) may be tracked on device and/or on our backend using a non-sensitive client identifier so we can enforce fair use.

Local storage

Preferences, chat history, quota counters, and plan data may be stored in on-device storage (UserDefaults and the app sandbox).

What we do not do

We do not sell personal data. We do not use cross-app tracking for advertising. We do not provide investment, legal, medical, or tax advice.

Account and data deletion

You may sign out and delete locally stored app data by removing the app from your device. To request deletion of account data we hold on our servers (if any), email support@firstprinciples.app from the address associated with your account and ask for account/data deletion. We will process reasonable requests within a commercially reasonable time, subject to legal retention needs (for example fraud or accounting records).

Subscription billing is managed by Apple; cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13.
